BretWoodMagazine

This was very interesting because I now know the tools and programs these big magazine companies are using. The different techniques and styles are endless. I also liked this because I was able to use a picture I took of my friend over the summer playing basketball and I got to use my favorite nba team's court. This was a very fun project and I love how the possibilities are endless.

BretWoodPropaganda.ai

This project was very unique as in I got to express something not many people like to talk about. I am huge on conspiracy theories, and this being one of the biggest. I truly believe this day was horrible; but very shady. I liked they color way also of the propaganda style, very vibrant colors. Used an analogous color scheme with some black and white pictures and lines.

BretWoodLogos

I really like this project. It made me realize there is endless possibilities in illustrator. I also learned how to download new fonts for different themed logos. I personally liked the Earth logo the most but the font could be kind of too small. Nut the beats logo I like too, especially with the wave in the blocks. But I had a great time doing it.

BretWoodCaligram.ai

The Caligram to me was by far my favorite project we have done. Since I have a huge fanatic of sneakers I got to express my love for them I feel. I am very much pleased with how mine came out and I will definitely be doing this again on my own time.

BretWoodCanvas.html

I have never worked with coding before so at first it seemed like learning Spanish. And actually this is another language, that I don't speak. If I didn't have the guide I don't know where I would be. Overall this was fun and I am happy I got to learn html, but preferably I don't want to do too too much with it. I think my piece came out pretty well for never working with html before and I think it was a great experience.

BretWoodRoto.mp4

This project was amazingly stressful. It was so so stressful putting in all the time and effort necessary to make a great quality rotoscope video. In the end I am incredibly happy with my result and think that all the stress I had went to good use. This is an amazing new technique and will be sure to use it in my videos as I continue my film career. And I will also be putting this on my film portfolio.

BretWoodToy.psd

Alright this one actually beats my last project just because this one relates to Star Wars. I was able to turn my roommate into Darth Maul (my favorite character) and then turn him into a bobble head. I also re-wrote star wars history and had him defeat obi-wan instead of the other way around. This process took many many hours but I think it came out amazing and was well worth the time it took. I learned many many new things about photoshop that I didn't know before and some new short cuts. I hope the next project is just as much fun as this one

BretWoodRestoration.psd

This project was by far the best overall. I never once knew that this is how people restore old, beat up photos and it is mind blowing to me. This project took me roughly 15 hours to do overall but it was well worth it in the end. I feel as though I could almost make a little side business off of this just because I'm not many people know how to do this. I think the transformation between the two photos was worth the 15 hours I put into it.

Multiplicity Photo Shoot

This was very fun because I got to take the photos of my friend. But what was hard was the lighting. When he was facing the light the sun would dull/fade him out and then when the sun was behind him it would almost blur the lens because it was so bright. I will have to bring the exposure down on all my photos to help my pictures out, but they don't need much work. The tri-pod they also gave me was terrible, something was wrong with it and the nail that twist into my camera barely worked. So I had to improvise and level the camera out by stuffing some clothing in the holder thing. Lastly I was lucky enough that my camera has wifi and I can take the picture from my phone so I didn't even have to touch the camera.

BretWoodFormPainting.psd

This project was not at all quick and easy. I had many difficulties; so I have little storage on my MacBook Air and photoshop wouldn't open so I had to download it on to my roommate's laptop until my external hard drive comes in, so I wasn't able to use his laptop until 12am of Sept. 4th. And this is a very time consuming project which took me around 3 hours. The hardest part was probably actually physically drawing the shapes rather then shading and blending the actual colors themselves. Also trying to think where the light hit the shapes. Overall I would rather be doing this for 3 hours rather than Math so I had fun !!

Introduction of me

After the first class, I'm actually ecstatic for the class to begin and get into doing work. I am big into film and have always wondered how animation works and putting it all together; for example making a video in photoshop. Not only did I sit in another class for 20 minutes but I was thankful when I came into the right class because it was much more appealing and up my alley. I feel like I will learn some programs that I didn't know how to use before and will end up being crucial to my future career.
Besides the obvious that I am very tall, I tend to find myself comical and usually the people around me do too. In bigger groups I don't make jokes because I dislike it when other's do it and are loud and obnoxious about it and not even funny so I try not to be hypocritical; but if it's 1 on 1 hanging out or in smaller groups people will always come to me for good laugh. I am a very happy and uplifting kid, people have to do a lot to get me in a sour mood and they have to do even extra for me to dislike them. I believe in peace and happiness and that is what I try to bring into this world. I am also the most unreligious person you could ever meet, fun fact I'm not even baptized. If you have ever came to Connecticut and went to the casinos I live right around there. Two more fun facts, I have never broken a bone or been stung by a bee (KNOCK ON WOOD). Lastly for this paragraph the most I've re-sold a pair of sneakers was for over $800+!!!! p.s I have a pet Basset Hound.
What I want to get out of this class is the fundamentals to know how to use all applications, so when I apply for a film job I have a wide variety of uses and have a better chance at getting the job. My career goal is to be a movie director/producer because in sophomore year of High School, swear on my mom, I would watch 2 movies a day. I would go to basketball practice then watch movies for the rest of the night and still managed to get a 3.6 gpa (even though I don't agree with the gpa system but thats a talk for another day). I hope this class fulfills my wonders on parts of film that I don't know how to do, like for example create a video in adobe photoshop.
Lastly I just am excited to learn as much as I can because to me power is knowledge and the more I know can't hurt me, unless it's hurtful stuff because then it will hurt me haha.
